It was originally founded as Sprott Shaw Degree College, however the name was changed to Acsenda in 2013 to better reflect the reality that the school operates with its own dedicated academic governance model designed to support a strong undergraduate academic culture.
Acsenda is subsidiary of the CIBT Education Group, a global education management company based in Canada with an international network of schools, partners and educational services. Acsenda is unique among the CIBT family of organizations as the only one authorized to offer a Canadian undergraduate degree.
