Traveling to a new Country requires a lot previous preparation in which pack a good luggage becomes a determining factor to enjoy the adventure.

The first step in preparing your baggage is to check the airline’s allowance and luggage size rules before buying the flight ticket. The suitcase size and weight varies depending on the company, because of that, it may be convenient to purchase a plus or Business category flight ticket instead of adding an extra suitcase in the check-in desk. In this way you will enjoy a better flight service and also you will save some money!

Once the weight and size of the luggage is determined, the questions come: “ What do I need more? Is it cold over there? Does it rain a lot? Are there any restrictions on customs? What about alcohol, tobacco and food? “ Now it’s time to prioritize and select what  we have and what we need.  Let’s start to pack a super-useful bag!

First of all you need to know that in Vancouver it rains 165 days per year on average; it means that your bag must contain at least one umbrella or raincoat, no matter in which season you are travelling.

In the winter season the rain turns to snow due to the low temperatures, which is why Vancouver is an ideal place for fans of skiing and snowboarding.

Do not forget to pack your suitcase with coats, jerseys, thermal jerseys, gloves, hats, scarves, good hiking shoes and warm socks!

If you are a regular skier / snowboarder and you’re planning to spend the winter season in Vancouver, we recommend to bring your own equipment and get one of the early-bird passes to one of the ski resorts in the area. The repetitive renting and access to the ski slope can rise your budget considerably. For example, Whistler-Blackcomb has been voted the best ski resort in the world in several  occasions, it’s located an hour and a half from Vancouver and extends the ski season until May with an average day budget of CAD $ 300 without accommodation.

During the spring season, temperatures rise to 10 – 18 degrees Celsius. The trees bloom and leave beautiful landscapes to stroll and enjoy nature. The time is uncertain so be prepare for rain, wind, sun. At noon you can enjoy a sunny weather but in the evening it could get cold and you will need to wear a jacket or coat. There are chances of rain, so if you plan to travel to Vancouver you can’t forget an umbrella, raincoat, rain-boots or waterproof shoes. On the other hand you also have to save some space in your suitcase for sunglasses, caps, shirts, short sleeves and jeans for the sunny moments. Remember to include some scarf, sweater and jacket/coat for the nights. Dress like an onion: wear layers!

The average temperature is 20-26 degrees Celsius during the summer season and our recommendation is to pack your bag quite like for spring. You should also add your swimsuits or bikinis, towels and sun cream to enjoy the beaches, pools and summer atmosphere!
